Hard Candy is a claustrophobic thriller. First-time director David Slade is on dangerous ground with controversial subject matter but does a superb job of bringing together an excellent script, crisp cinematography, and an awe-inspiring performance by a young Ellen Page.
Confounding the conventional relationship between abuser and victim, Hard Candy presents a complex morality tale under the guise of an exploitation thriller. Your sympathies will be divided between two intimately bound characters but, in the end, there can be only one winner. Or can there?!

This movie makes the girls scream of joy while getting the boys to scream of fear 🙂
Once seen, never forgotten. Much better than it is ever given credit for, this film makes you think about a very uncomfortable subject, in more ways than one…
