The Intouchables was a massive hit, taking over $336 million at the box office in its first 6 months. It is a brilliantly funny and tender tale brought to the screen magnificently by its two main actors, Omar Sy and François Cluzet, and its writers/directors, Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano.
This is a light, delightful French film containing several important social messages. It is a film everyone should see.

I’ve since read up on this film and I can tell you it won the Jury Prize at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and in 2012, was nominated for thirteen César Awards. So I guess it was a recommendation from Philippe for us to watch it, not to avoid it! :O)

Hi. Thanks for liking my post.
My interest is in the cultural portrayal of heroes. (Just been listening to a BBC4 account of the Tarzan story in book and film.
Although not a regular movie-goer, I will be including you among my searches on the subject for my leadership blogs,

I laughted so much…
I love this film so much!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this film! Oscar Cy deserves an Oscar for his performance as I felt his presence popped out of the screen as if he were in 3D. His dance scene tops all other modern day performances. His raw talent and authenticity to the role really moved me. I am crossing my fingers at the Academies although he is up against The Master and that will be a hard one to beat.
Funniest French movie I have ever seen. And based on a true story!
LOVE this movie. Left the cinema with a smile from ear to ear! One of my all time favourites!
Your Blog is great! looking forward to more…
A positively enchanting film in every respect. The wife and I did a double feature with this and The Sessions — another great film with similar underlying themes.
I love this movie so much ! I get so excited as soon as a french movie becomes internationally renowned. The subtitles on the trailer are terrible though! It ruins half of the jokes and fails to convey the striking contrast between the two character’s diction and way of expression, (which doesn’t prevent the formation of their friendship.)
Yes, you’re right! I didn’t notice that before about the trailer subtitles.
Was it the same throughout the film or just the trailer?
Well, I found the film to be brilliant, so I guess not.
I loved this movie! Too bad I cannot speak French.
Never too late to learn! Especially when one loves the art and culture of another country 🙂 Bonne continuation et bon courage. ++ 🙂
Wonderful movie! Het ging van huilen van het lachen naar lachen van het huilen. =)
Great movie full of humor :)! I like the fact that it’s based on a true story btw 🙂
Hi Bini. Yes, it really is a superb movie and story. And so so funny!
