Stranger Than Fiction (2006)

2006 Stranger Than Fiction Movie Film Cinema Poster Art Advance Teaser Theatrical

The wonderful Stranger Than Fiction mixes fantasy, drama, sentimentality and humour into an exquisite cocktail of existential thoughts and warm, fuzzy feelings. Zach Helm’s original and award-winning screenplay is a gem. Marc Forster’s direction highly entertaining.

The protagonist, played beautifully low-key by Will Ferrell, is a character you will deeply care for but also smile at when things go wrong for him. Ferrell is supported with great performances by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.

Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, once wrote: “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”. For Will Ferrell’s character, Harold Crick, IRS auditor, this has never been more true.

This film is a joy to watch.
