Kick-Ass (2010)

2010 Kick-Ass Movie Film Cinema Theatrical Poster Art

If you want to have heaps of fun watching a superhero action comedy, then Kick-Ass is the ticket!

I’m not into superheroes at all, apart from the original Superman trilogy. But this film is a hilarious and cheeky take on the genre which will have you smiling and laughing from beginning to end.

Kick-Ass is a real treat. It is one of the best comedies I’ve seen for a long time. There’s nothing weak about this material. There are some superb one-liners.

All the actors deliver perfectly for their roles. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is great as Kick-Ass. And watch out for the amazing Chloë Grace Moretz as a little 14 year old and a highly entertaining Nicholas Cage as her dad.

You can find more information on this British–American movie on Wikipedia and IMDb.

As always, we recommend you don’t ruin any surprises by reading spoilers or watching trailers. This one doesn’t give much away… but still, we advise you to trust us and just watch the movie!

  1. Love it – can’t wait for the sequel! This actually one of the few films where I don’t find Nicholas Cage annoying!!

  2. Really cool superhero movie. Cannot wait to check out the sequel. Chloë Grace Moretz definitely steals the show in this one. By the way, love this style of review. No spoilers and very concise. Keep up the great work!!

  3. Great movie! I really enjoyed it!
By the way, what a good blog you have, Shimky!

  4. you talk about smiling and laughing from beginning to end… but me and my sis cried alot during this film tho. Its not all funny…

  5. I thought this movie was done well and very entertaining. Also if you liked this movie you will enjoy Super. It’s along the same concept but a little bit more dark humor. It’s currently on Netflix.

  6. Thoroughly enjoyable and one of the few movies that kept me glued to my seat. Chloe Moretz and Nicholas Cage steal the show, while the self deprecating humor keeps it real, although the jet pack bit was slightly disappointing, but a minor gripe in an otherwise great movie.

  7. FYI Chloe and her character Hit Girl are/were supposed to be 11 years old in Kick Ass, not 14. Hit Girl is supposed to be 14 in KA2, but Chloe was already 16 by the time they made it.
